Guardian Deity

Guardian Deities (more commonly known as land lords or gods) are beings or ayakashi that are considered the "gods" of the Shinyuuchi areas. Some deities were born with the creation of a Shinyuuchi, and are therefore known as the "true born" gods. Others became the guardians of an area by staying within a Shinyuuchi for a set amount of time, or until the land itself decided upon who would be its protector. There are also some ayakashi so powerful that they are labeled as god-class, whether they have any known connection to a Shinyuuchi or not. There is a strong connection between a deity and their land, and considerable damage to either one can result in the fall of an entire region.
